1947 Style Master Coupe
1947 Chevy Stylemaster Coupe
The theme was to maintain the original look of the car as Ron had left it. Freedom Blue factory paint and true 50's hot rodder, black, roll and pleated, custom interior were a must. We continued the car with the brown dash complete with aftermarket Sun Tachometer and the sprint car style steering wheel. A hurst floor shifter was employed as well as Ron's original Mooneyes shift knob. To finish the overall look, a set of chrome reverse wheels with baby Moon hubcaps and wide white wall tires were selected. Keeping with the original look, we did update the platform to make a high performance, fun to drive car.
292 Engine History
In 1963, Chevrolet introduced the largest and best inline 6 cylinder engine. It was only used in C20 and larger trucks. Since then, it has gone on to prove itself, when properly modified, to be the 'Big Block' 6 to use. No other manufacturers had a 6 that could out torque or make more horsepower. It soon became the favorite engine to use by the serious 6 cylinder hot rodders. The 292 was known to drop the jaws of many V8 guys when they were smoked by the Chevy 6.
This 292 from a 1979 C20 trick was disassembled, prepped, and rebuilt with all new high performance parts. All of this makes it a very reliable street engine that will make around 350 horsepower, a ton of torque, and fun to drive.
